Acne is not your fault...

Before you continue reading, I want you to give yourself permission to feel all the things...

Acne may feel like "just a bunch of pimples" to most people, but I know it's not that simple for you

In fact, the American Academy of Dermatology lists the emotional effects of acne as:

Depression

Anxiety

Low self-esteem

Poor self-image

Decreased quality of life

A feeling of being all alone

Treating acne is so much more than just clearing pimples.

PROTOCOLS

I’m sure you can relate to my patient Amanda’s* story …

When I was 26 years old I decided to quit taking birth control pills. I had been on birth control since the age of 12.  As a young girl, I only had the occasional pimple, but I never experienced a problem with any kind of acne.

After quitting birth control pills, I experienced cystic acne for the first time and I was prescribed strong antibiotics by a dermatologist. I was on strong antibiotics off and on for 3 years. They also recommended accutane and I declined. The antibiotics helped, but what I didn’t know at the time, and would find out later; the antibiotics would cause major Candida problems with my digestive system.

My forehead broke out severely with very large, painful and red cystic acne. I visited Google and YouTube in search of answers regarding cystic acne and the only answers I found were the use of antibiotics and accutane. These were not an option for me. I was discouraged because many girls seemed to be on so many antibiotics and accutane and they still continued to battle severe cystic acne.

I couldn’t find any answers for a treatment for cystic acne that would work for me.

My forehead continued to improve slowly without any oral medications, but my swollen, painful and red chin breakouts continued to get worse every day.

I realized that I needed a specialist — I turned to Dr. Sims.

At my first appointment with Dr. Sims I came in discouraged, sad, and extremely desperate, but still hopeful. I knew antibiotics would help but only at the cost of lifelong problems with my digestive system and would not rid me of cystic acne forever. I was determined to find the treatment without the use of traditional medications.

When Dr. Sims saw me, she was full of smiles and said “I know what to do … you are going to be our miracle acne patient.”

Upon hearing those words, emotion swept over me. My discouragement was replaced with happiness, excitement and I was anxious to see the results. I wanted a miracle and I wanted it overnight.

Week after week, I visited Dr. Sims and watched as the lesions showed improvement and reduced both in size and in quantity.

I gained renewed confidence to face the public as the lesions improved.

Although my miracle didn’t happen overnight, I did get a miracle.

The healing of my cystic acne has been a journey and I feel it is important to share it with those who also suffer with cystic acne.

May my story provide hope and a resource for a healthier treatment option than traditional medicine.
